In addition to overseeing the Local, Susan not only specializes in Portraits but also paints Landscapes, large works with textiles and beads, sculpts,  creates healing stone jewelry and still finds time to play accordion in two local bands The ToneShifters and Blonde Furniture!

Attending the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts from 1982 -1988 she studied portrait and figure painting with Aaron Shikler, figure sculpture with Lacy de Gerendaya and Norman Legassi.  She received a  double major BA from Connecticut College in New London, CT in 2004 in Studio Art and Art History. A steady commissioned artist since 1986 Susan specialized in portraiture.
